We welcome four new professors to the consortium

We are excited to welcome four new professors to our consortium: Alex Hernandez-Garcia, Sarath Chandar, Sébastien Lemieux, and Michal Koziarski. Their expertise spans computational biology, deep learning, bioinformatics, and systems biology–all crucial fields that will strengthen our efforts in AI-accelerated antimicrobial resistance research.

Alex Hernandez-Garcia (Université de Montréal / Mila) specializes in developing computational methods for understanding microbial genomics and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, with a focus on applying AI to improve pathogen detection and interpretation of complex biological data. Sarath Chandar (Polytechnique Montréal) specializes in deep learning and representation learning, advancing AI-driven discovery. Sébastien Lemieux (Université de Montréal) is an expert in bioinformatics and transcriptomics, integrating multi-omics data for biological insights. Michal Koziarski (The Hospital for Sick Children – SickKids) contributes expertise in machine learning, with applications to antimicrobial research and synthetic biology.

We look forward to the valuable contributions these new members will bring to our collaborative research.
